Senoia, Georgia -- Even though he had clinched the 2009 Viper Series Championship at South Alabama Speedway in August, Bubba Pollard of Senoia Georgia was hoping to win all seven events but came up one position short in the series finale Cottonmouth 100 on Saturday evening. "We had made some changes to the car but the changes proved to be to our disadvantage", said Pollard, who finished second behind eventual race winner Corey Ruble. "I think we'll go back to our original set up for the Alabama 200."
Pollard, who drives the Pitboxes.com/HRI/Ronnie Sanders Motorsports Chevy Impala, had won the previous six Viper Series races. "It was a great season", added Pollard. "Mr. Ronnie (Sanders) always provided me a great race car at each event and I want to thank him for his support."
Next up for Pollard is the Pro Late Model "Show Me The Money 100" at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Alabama. "We did a tire test on the new pavement at Montgomery a couple weeks ago and we'll need to use a different tire than what we used to use."
