On top of many race victories on Bubba Pollard’s list of accomplishments, the Senoia, Georgia native can now add “Slinger Nationals Champion” to his growing resume.
Slinger Speedway (WI) produced yet another fantastic and intense day of racing where Super Late Model drivers can either have an appreciable day, or seem to struggle all day long. Pollard fell under the positive side, but had to put up a fight to get to victory lane.
During the halfway break in the 200-lap feature, while other drivers cooled down, Pollard could be found underneath the car making a gear change in the short 10 minutes that he had.
“I couldn’t beat (the other drivers) from the center off,” Pollard told Speed51.com powered by JEGS after the race. “I felt like I needed a little bit more motor, and the gear change was the right call.”
