Bubba Pollard’s weekend at South Alabama Speedway for The Rattler didn’t go as the Senoia, GA driver had planned. Pollard’s best run of the weekend came Saturday night in the Baby Rattler 125. After qualifying fifth, Pollard raced in the top five all night and brought home a fourth-place finish.
However, the Georgia driver struggled to find the right handling on his race car during the 41st Annual Rattler 250 on Sunday. After struggling in Friday’s practice, Pollard elected to unload his back-up car on Saturday. He qualified 21st for the 250-lap race and managed to race his way inside the top 10 by the halfway point. After the final break with 50 laps to go, Pollard would get his No. 26 machine as high as eighth position before settling for an 11th-place finish.
While Pollard’s Rattler weekend came up short of the high hopes he had entering the race, it does mark the first time since 2012 he finished the 250-lap event.
